Peter Crawford (Director, Screenwriter, Actor) grew up half Swiss/half American in Southern California where he received a Masters in Creative Writing from California State University, Los Angeles. After writing and teaching for a number of years, he changed direction and moved to Italy to start a successful tour operator specializing in multi-day, custom walks through the Italian countryside. After twenty years abroad, when his mother became ill, he returned with his son in 2018 to California to be closer to her. While there, he enrolled in acting, film production and film studies classes in preparation for the pursuit of his longtime passion for filmmaking, which had begun in his mid-teens with his first Super-8 camera. He also wrote, produced, directed, edited and acted in a number of short films as well as a student feature based on his screenplay Hidden, which won finalist placement in the Santa Barbara International Screenwriting Awards. During this time he greatly benefitted from the guidance of long-time indie film producer Marc Clebanoff of Odyssey Motion Pictures. After his mom passed away and finding the US a place he no longer recognized, he returned to Europe to take up residence as a Swiss citizen in Amsterdam. There he continues to make films as his own small contribution to the vibrant cinema culture of The Netherlands.
